Introducing Collaboration in Action, COG's video series hosted by Executive Director Clark Mercer. The series spotlights COG's work with member jurisdictions and private, nonprofit, and civic organizations on a wide variety of programs and initiatives that improve the quality of life for everyone in our DMV region. Come along as Clark takes you behind the scenes of several of our initiatives, spreading the word about the value of regional partnership and highlighting the leaders and experts in our network that are making a positive impact in our communities.

COG Podcast

Prior to Collaboration in Action, COG produced a podcast, Think Regionally, to raise awareness about metropolitan Washington's biggest challenges and focus on solutions. The podcast, which was hosted by former Washington Post columnist Robert McCartney, featured local government, business, and non-profit leaders talking about a variety of timely topics, including the region's economy, racial equity, transportation, housing, and climate change.

    As 1.5 million people are set to move into the Washington region by 2040 affordable housing will become critical for maintaining an educated middle class workforce. Shared equity homeownership is a tool that local governments can use that allows homes to remain affordable to middle and lower income households on a long-term basis. It does this by preserving affordable housing in areas where rising prices are forcing lower income households out of the market such as in the high cost Washington​

    Dozens of elected or appointed bodies, boards, and agencies are responsible for making decisions about the future of the Washington region's transportation system -- from where to build bike lanes and bus stops, to whether or not to expand Metrorail or area highways. These decisions will impact how people get to and from work and around the region for decades to come.

    New Website Helps Navigate Transportation Planning in D.C. Region

    The National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board launched the Transportation Planning Hub, a new website that will help people better understand how transportation decisions are made in metropolitan Washington and get involved in the decision-making process.
