On Tuesday, October 22, law enforcement personnel, elected leaders, and transportation officials from across the Washington region will gather in Senate Park, just north of the U.S. Capitol building, to kick off the Transportation Planning Board's semi-annual "Street Smart" bicycle and pedestrian safety campaign. The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) Board of Directors approved a letter to be sent to the full delegation of congressional representatives and senators in the COG Region, calling for Congress to immediately pass a clean continuing resolution to reopen the federal government.
