Application Questions
For Existing Services Details section, do applicants include the services they currently provide that fall outside the Washington DC-VA-MD Urbanized Area?
The Selection Committee is seeking to understand the existing transportation services and capacity of the applicant. If there is a significant portion of the organization’s services that fall outside of the urbanized area (where funding would not be eligible), please note the estimated percent within the Agency Purpose and Programs response area.
How do you define Additional Consumers that will be served if the application is successful?
The Selection Committee would like to have information on the impact and enhanced services the application will have on older adults and persons with disabilities. Please record the estimated number of additional consumers the application is expected to serve. For example, if your project serves the same individuals you are already serving in an existing project, they would not be considered additional consumers. If your project will serve existing individuals in a new way (travel training of existing clients being transported by agency vehicle) then they could be counted as additional consumers.
Are All Wheel Drive vehicles available for funding?
No, the current list of eligible vehicles does not include All Wheel or Four-Wheel Drive vehicles. Snow tires are an eligible expense.
Is public transit fare an eligible expense?
Applications including travel training as part of the funding request may include public transit fare as an eligible expense. In addition, the expense is considered a mobility management activity and qualifies at the 80% / 20% match. Transit fare expenses as part of any other project (i.e. staff travel to meetings or events on bus or rail) are not eligible. Parking costs and mileage reimbursement are eligible expenses.
