Title VI

The Title VI Civil Rights law states that “no person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG)  and the National Capital Transportation Planning Board (TPB) fully comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes and regulations prohibiting discrimination in all programs and activities. It is COG's policy to provide equal access for individuals with disabilities and those with limited English skills to programs, meetings, publications, and activities. Reasonable accommodations will be provided by the Council of Governments upon request with reasonable advance notice. Reasonable accommodations may include translation services, modifications or adjustments to a program, publication or activity to enable an individual with a disability or someone who does not speak English to participate.
