COG's Podcast: Think Regionally

COG's podcast, Think Regionally, raises awareness about metropolitan Washington's biggest challenges and focuses on solutions. The podcast, which is hosted by former Washington Post columnist Robert McCartney, features local government, business, and non-profit leaders talking about a variety of timely topics, including the region's economy, racial equity, transportation, housing, and climate change.

    Several major new additions or changes to the region's Constrained Long-Range Transportation Plan (CLRP), including proposals to toll portions of I-66 in Virginia and to expand the District's dedicated bike-lane network, are now available for public comment through February 14.

    In 2014 the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments identified regional infrastructure as its focus and held a series on COG’s main areas of expertise such as transportation water energy and public safety communications. Officials planned the series to identify policy advocacy and outreach actions around key infrastructure needs.

    Transportation Planning Board Elects New Leadership for 2015

    During its December meeting, members of the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board (TPB) voted unanimously to elect its officers for 2015. District of Columbia Council Chairman Phil Mendelson will serve as TPB Chairman. Alexandria City Councilman Timothy Lovain and Rockville Mayor Bridget Donnell Newton will serve as Vice Chairs of the TPB.
