A record-breaking 20,000 people are expected to participate in this year’s Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 17, hosted by Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association. More than 100 pit stop locations across the region will make the ride to work more fun with food, beverages, prizes, and the chance to share the ride with fellow bicyclists.

Commuters can register for Bike to Work Day for free at www.biketoworkmetrodc.org. The first 20,000 to register and attend will receive a free 2019 event T-shirt.

“Bike to Work Day is a fun and effective way to avoid traffic, while staying active,” said Nicholas Ramfos, Commuter Connections Director. “Commuters in the region are increasingly committed to finding more manageable ways of commuting that lead to healthier lifestyle choices and are better for the environment.”
