Charles Allen: TPB's five initiatives for a better regional transportation system

This year, the Transportation Planning Board (TPB) at COG is changing its approach to helping the metropolitan Washington region plan for the future of its transportation system.

Recently, the TPB endorsed five ideas that weren’t part of the region’s current long-range transportation plan, but have the potential to significantly improve commuting times, increase access to jobs, and reduce emissions.
