You can see Bureau Racial Equity Plans at https://www.portlandoregon.gov/oehr/70048 July 15, 2021 11:05 AM from plarianne to everyone: Deborah: No, the advisory group members must volunteer their time. This is an identified hurdle for many community members and is frustrating since we want to compensate folks for the expertise they are providing. So we have piloted an approach to hire Waste Equity Community Consultants that are paid for their time reviewing and providing feedback on staff work. We hired five Community Consultants that have participated in this project along with the official Advisory Group members. We will discuss environmental examples including composting cooperatives, sharing systems and community gardens. Tuesday, August 10, 2021, from 2:00-3:00 PM ET. Register here - https://bit.ly/2OWJkgm 2) The Center leads the Simplify the Holidays campaign (https://simplifytheholidays.org/) and we want to update the stat commonly used regarding waste generated during the holidays. Please reach out if you'd be willing to share your waste generation data (landfill, transfer station, drop-off waste and recycling, Christmas tree collection, electronics, cardboard, etc.) for 2017, 2018 and 2019 so it could be aggregated with others across the country. kdennings@biologicaldiversity.org July 15, 2021 11:44 AM from Charlie Forbes to everyone: Fabulous presentations and lots of good ideas to carry forward to Fairfax County leadership.
