Catoe regarding planning for pedestrian and bicycle access in the Metro system. Mr. Catoe has asked me to respond. As you know, Mr. Catoe has brought in an outside organizational consultant to review Metro's staffing levels, including the need to have a full-time pedestrian and bicycle access coordinator. Metro supports the recommendations to dedicate a staff person for pedestrian and bicycle issues, although I cannot say at this time whether bike-pedestrian coordination will be that person's only responsibility. Mr. Catoe will send you a more detailed substantive reply when we are further along with the organizational review. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve our current and future staffing needs. Sincerely, Raymond C. Feldmann Assistant General Manager Department of Communications
