At the CAC meeting on April 11, residents of the region will have the chance to share their thoughts about the TPB’s public participation activities and offer suggestions to improve engagement in our region’s transportation planning process. The meeting will be part of a multi-faceted review of the TPB process conducted by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
Under federal law, the federal surface transportation agencies must jointly certify the metropolitan transportation planning process of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO) like the TPB at least once every four years. Certification is granted after a thorough review of the MPO products, programs and processes, including work related to public participation. The objective of a Certification Review is to determine how the TPB is addressing federal law and regulations.
