This year, the region’s annual Car Free Day event sponsored by Commuter Connections, a program of the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments has been extended to two days—Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22— to allow more people to participate. Take the pledge at www.carfreemetrodc.org and qualify for prizes. Participate by going car free or car-lite, including carpooling, teleworking, taking transit, walking, or bicycling to get around and be counted for helping make the air cleaner and the roads less congested.
