Car Free Day is a world-wide event and is celebrated on September 22nd each year.  The goal of the event in the Washington DC metropolitan region is to encourage residents to pledge to go car-free or car-lite for the day.  Information and pledge registration can be located at www.carfreemetrodc.org.
