District of Columbia Citizen Tree Forum
We all enjoy trees, especially in the city where they provide shade and make places more delightful. Did you know that there is an estimated 144,000 street trees in our city? All of our city trees need care and nurturing. Here is an opportunity to learn about trees in your neighborhood, about the environmental stress they endure and how you can help care for trees in your neighborhood.
The DC Urban Forestry Administration, in partnership with the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, and the US Forest Service are hosting a
District of Columbia Citizen Tree Forum on June 3, 2009.
For your benefit, we will have two nationally recognized experts in tree care and diseases to discuss urban trees and to answer your questions:
Featured speakers:
· Dr. John Ball, South Dakota State University
· Dr. Chris Luley, Urban Forestry Associates, LLC
· Representatives from the Northeastern Area, US Forest Service
· District Department of the Environment (DDOE)
