This Urban Forest Forum will focus on maintenance methods for reforestation / restoration sites where competition from primarily exotic plants threaten the survival of our native transplants.  Among the topics discussed will be seasonal mowing, hand-clearing of invasives, herbicide use, and ideas for alternative approaches to seasonal weed control.  We will also have a panel of practitioners speaking about the various methods tried and untried as they describe their experiences and successes.   Time will also be provided to mingle with your colleagues. 

This meeting will be held at the offices of the Council of Governments, 777 North Capitol, St. Washington, D.C., on the first floor in the Training Center meeting room.
