As part of "National Disability Employment Awareness Month", an “Access for All” press conference will be held at 10:30 am prior to the October 20, 2004, TPB meeting.  Multiple teams, each including a person with a disability, a TPB member, and where possible, a reporter, will be organized to travel together to the press conference.  This activity is meant to raise awareness of the travel challenges faced by disabled persons and encourage elected officials and the public to work towards breaking down travel and attitudinal barriers. The press conference will involve reports from travel team members on the accessibility features and challenges of the trip.

In addition, the TPB will be presented with a resolution to approve at the October 20, 2004 meeting to call attention to the need for dependable and accessible transportation to get more disabled individuals to work.
