    Building Resilience Together: Community-Military Collaboration in Washington, D.C.

    With a grant from the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC) of the Department of Defense (DoD), COG collaborated with global advisory firm ICF and its partner Nspiregreen, and other partners in the region to conduct a Military Installation Resilience Review (MIRR). The report identifies hazards and vulnerabilities in communities surrounding four military installations in Washington, D.C. that could impact the military’s ability to carry out its missions on-base. The report also outlines actions to address these vulnerabilities.

    Commuter Connections Work Program

    This document provides information on an alternative commute program for the metropolitan Washington region called “Commuter Connections.” The program is designed to improve traffic congestion and regional air quality by reducing single occupancy vehicle use. Specific program elements include Commuter Operations Center, Regional Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) Program, Marketing, Monitoring and Evaluation, Employer Outreach, and GRH Baltimore.

    Community-Wide Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory Summaries

    COG completes greenhouse gas (GHG) community-scale inventories for all 24 local government members, northern Virginia, and metropolitan Washington. These fact sheets present GHG inventory results between 2005 and 2020.

    Commuter Connections Guaranteed Ride Home Survey Report

    This report presents the results of a survey (GRH survey) of commuters who currently participate or who have participated in the past in the regional Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) Program. Commuter Connections created the GRH Program to eliminate a barrier to using alternative modes, commuters’ fear of being without transportation in the case of an emergency.

    FY 2023-2026 Transportation Improvement Program

    The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a 4-year financial program that describes the schedule for obligating federal funds to state and local projects. The TIP contains funding information for all modes of transportation including highways and HOV as well as transit capital and operating costs. State, regional and local transportation agencies update the program every two years to reflect priority projects in the Visualize 2045 long-range plan as approved and amended.
