    FY 2023-2026 Transportation Improvement Program

    The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a 4-year financial program that describes the schedule for obligating federal funds to state and local projects. The TIP contains funding information for all modes of transportation including highways and HOV as well as transit capital and operating costs. State, regional and local transportation agencies update the program every two years to reflect priority projects in the Visualize 2045 long-range plan as approved and amended.

    COVID-19 Travel Monitoring Snapshot

    These reports illustrate how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted travel in metropolitan Washington between March of 2020 and December of 2022. The charts show changes in roadway traffic and enplanements as compared with 2019 levels. Updated reports were issued as new data became available.

    Regional Travel Survey In-Depth Analysis

    Following the release of the preliminary results of the 2017/2018 Regional Travel Survey (RTS) results, staff conducted in-depth analysis and developed a series of responses to thought-provoking questions offered by regional stakeholders; those responses are provided below in addition to presentations summarizing the various analyses. The analyses take a deeper dive into the RTS data by examining regional travel patterns for work and non-work trips across geographic, temporal, and socio-demographic dimensions.
