Nov 16, 2004
Summary
This Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) was prepared by the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board (TPB), which is the designated metropolitan planning organization for the Washington region. It was prepared under the metropolitan planning requirements of the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21). As a product of the urban transportation planning process, it outlines the staged development of the area's Long Range Transportation Plan, with priority projects selected for programming by the TPB, the states and the transit agencies presented in the first year of the six-year program. State, regional and local agencies place projects into the program each year.
