Significant reductions to the federal workforce would have far-reaching impacts in the metropolitan Washington region, which is prompting swift action by area governments, businesses, and philanthropies. COG is supporting the regionwide response by making holistic data on the federal footprint and information on resources to affected workers and their families readily available.
COG measures economic growth through the monthly Regional Economic Monitoring System (REMS) Report, which is now available as an online, interactive dashboard. The dashboard also includes data on how the region compares with other regions on Gross Domestic Product and federal employment.
