Regional Fair Housing Project Team
The Regional Fair Housing Project Team is the core group of jurisdictions and their Public Housing Authority partners working to collaborate on a Regional Housing Equity Plan (also known as the Regional Fair Housing Plan or Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice.)
The purpose and main rationale of a regional collaboration for on a fair housing plan is to help local jurisdictions meet their requirements in a way that deepens the impact of the required process. It may help ensure that local goals are consistent, collaborative, and innovative, making them more likely to be effective.
The project team meets monthly during the planning process. A Community Advisory Committee comprised of regional organizations will help ensure that the engagement process is meaningful and will provide critical insights for addressing barriers and developing solutions to achieve fair housing choice.
Participating jurisdictions include the City of Alexandria, VA; Arlington County, VA; the District of Columbia; Fairfax County, VA; City of Gaithersburg, MD; Loudoun County, VA; Montgomery County, MD; and Prince William County, VA. Their Public Housing partners include the District of Columbia Housing Authority; Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority; Rockville Housing Enterprises; Alexandria Housing and Redevelopment Authority; and the Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County.
