Health Officials Committee

The Health Officials Committee (HOC) is comprised of health officers from local jurisdiction public health departments. They are responsible for maintaining the public health through services and programs for communicable disease control, maternal and child health, health equity, and environmental health.

The Committee’s purpose is to enhance public health knowledge, coordination and services across the COG membership and National Capital Region to improve the health and well-being of the all the populations the Health Officials serve.

The Committee’s work supports the COG Board of Directors, the HSPC, other COG policy  committees, and other COG technical committees in the public health system’s interests.
