In his Sunday column The Washington Post’s Robert McCartney wrote about The 2030 Group and its push for “a stronger regionwide governance structure” to tackle multi-jurisdictional issues like transportation.

McCartney noted that the group consisting of some of the region’s business and academic leaders was “ruffling feathers” as some see its work as a duplication of what the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) and its partners have created in Region Forward. However McCartney also added that if the group was able to make people think more regionally “we could all benefit from that.”
