The area around the New Carrollton Metro station is going to be converted into a walkable mixed-use center with links to multiple forms of transit. RF calls for an increase in such forms of development which will help meet its targets and goals.

New Carrollton is the first of 14 transit stations in Maryland set for redevelopment to maximize the areas’ potential and reduce sprawl. The state of Maryland and Metro are working together to find developers to help bring their vision to fruition.
