On behalf of area elections officials, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments is reminding citizens in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia to make sure they are registered to vote.

The deadline for registering in the District of Columbia and Virginia is October 6. In Maryland, the deadline is October 14.

People that have moved since the last time they voted must update their address to remain eligible to vote this November.
