Commissioner Lovell Makes Appearances as Wayne Water Drop

Aug 18, 2006

Frederick County Commissioner John R. Lovell, Jr. helps promote wise water during a Frederick Keys baseball game August 11.

Lovell’s appearance as Wayne Water Drop encouraged children and their families to conserve water in the home, and was part of the Wise Water Use campaign sponsored by COG and area water utilities. Upcoming events include a Bowie Baysox doubleheader August 25, where a special coupon can be used to receive two tickets for the price of one.

Lovell made a second appearance as Wayne Water Drop at the Board of Directors monthly meeting in September, where he distributed the new Wise Water Use and Landscaping Guide. The guide provides sensible approaches to help save water while having an attractive yard, and includes information on soil improvement, efficient irrigation, mulching, low water-use plants, and maintenance. \
